Cowboy Bebop was a darned good show. So stylishly cool, awesome soundtrack, good story...
Anyway. I did this quite a long while ago, and just now bothered to dig it up out of my folders. Just a pencil drawing with a gradient map slapped on it to make it look all high contrasty like the intro of the show. Sort of. Look, I'll be honest, I just needed to post something to bump my devID out of the "recent submissions" window. I'm sorry.
Yep, Faye Valentine. Although she's probably my least favorite character in the show (but don't let the other Cowboy Bebop fans hear that I said that).
When I did this, I actually looked off another picture, but it turned out very slightly different... just little changes in the face and the posture I think. He looked more relaxed and cool in the original, whereas in mine he looks more tired and worn out. Maybe reflecting the way I was feeling when I worked on it... that was a crazy year .

actually, this one is from a couple of years ago... maybe that's a good idea, create an art stockpile for emergency situations... or don't you wish artist's block worked that way, you could save up your excess creativity and use it later? darned abstract concepts and their inability to be physically contained...

I think it's mainly her personality... and maybe the way she dresses too. I like darker, more serious characters (although I strangely am not at all annoyed by Ed). Faye is just too loud and whiny, and what little clothing she wears tends to be a little too bright yellow for my eyes to handle. Although I guess I can kind of see why they made her that way, to contrast with Julia... and maybe as sort of a halfway point between Spike/Jet and Ed/Ein.

Although your reason for submitting this image isn't what I expected, this is a good drawing.
